CVBL: Detroit Outplays a Better Chicago Team 95-85
Detroit came out solid today, defying the predictions and notching the 95-85 upset of Chicago. "Somebody forgot to tell them they were underdogs," quipped Chicago coach Bob after the game. "No question, they were the better team out there today and deserved this win. I thought we came in prepared, but that was just a lot better than we've seen Detroit play for some time."
Credit has to be given to Detroit coach David Smith, who brought his team together after some tough losses earlier and has them playing at their best. "Some of the us really took those losses hard," said star Price. "But coach sat us down and showed us what we were doing wrong and what we needed to do to turn around. That was great to hear, and you saw the results today."
Detroit was led by Price (14 points, 9 boards, 10 assists, 2 steals), Lacroix (13 points, 9 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, a block), Martin (20 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks). Chicago was led by Sigler (29 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, 3 blocks), Joyner (19 points, 11 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks), Wilson (5 points, 3 steals).
Detroit extended their winning streak 5 games and improve to 21-13 and 10-7 at home. They advance to #2 in the Central and move up to #4 overall in the Eastern Conference. Chicago are now 20-13. They drop to #3 in the Central and fall to #5 overall in the Eastern Conference.
