CVBL: LA Lakers Upends San Antonio

LA Lakers overcame huge odds and a great San Antonio team to pull off a big upset today. The game begin with a yawn, as nobody in the stadium except for the LA Lakers player and coach Andreas Helmle thought the game would turn out this way. But as the game progressed and LA Lakers stayed with San Antonio and started pulling ahead, the electricity in the air began to build. By the end, fans of both sides knew they had witnessed one of the great performances ever.

Even San Antonio coach Bob was impressed. "Normally in an upset, the favorite has to really screw things up. We didn't play magnificently, but we didn't play badly either. You just have to give credit to Andreas Helmle and his team. Dockins played especially well for them; I don't think anyone really expected that sort of game from him."

LA Lakers was led by Dockins (27 points, 2 assists, a steal, 4 blocks), Walz (5 points, 5 boards, 19 assists, 3 steals), Bailey (16 points, 9 boards, 0 assists, a block). San Antonio was led by Lanham (14 points, 13 boards, 4 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Logan (21 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, a block), Mackey (17 points, 0 assists, a steal).

LA Lakers are now 13-22 and 9-9 at home with the victory. They improve to #4 in the Pacific and move up to #13 overall in the Western Conference. San Antonio are now 20-15. They remain at #1 in the Southwest and stay at #3 overall in the Western Conference.
