CVBL: Miami 111, Phoenix 103
Miami beat Phoenix today in a 111-103 game that was close the whole way. For much of the game, it looked like Phoenix would be able to pull off the win, thanks in large part to an outstanding performance by Cruz. But the tide finally turned in the end, with Miami star Fenty leading his team to victory.
"Definitely a great game," said Miami coach Bob after the game. "The fans got their money's worth out of it, and both teams put up a good fight. We're just glad that we were able to finish strong and get the W. Fenty was a big part of that, and I don't think we'd have won without his efforts."
Miami was led by Fenty (24 points, 10 boards, 2 assists, a steal), Roberson (7 points, 13 boards, 2 assists, 4 blocks), Jones (9 points, 8 assists, a steal). Phoenix was led by Cruz (25 points, 2 steals, a block), Meyers (11 points, 5 boards, 5 assists, 2 steals), Hall (19 points, 1 assists).
Miami stand at 34-12. They stay at #1 in the Southeast and remain at #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. Phoenix drop to 20-29 and 13-13 at home with today's defeat. They remain at #4 in the Pacific and move down to #10 overall in the Western Conference.
