CVBL: Miami Gets Win Over Philadelphia
A solid outing by Keeney led Miami to a 113-104 win over Philadelphia. "Take away Keeney, and we'd have won this thing," said Philadelphia coach Bob. "It was a very close game most of the way, and he was the one that put Miami over the top. I thought we had the right game plan and executed well. What's sad is that I don't know what we'd do differently next time, except for hoping for a more mortal performance by him."
Miami coach Bob was happy for the win, but concerned about the team's play. "I didn't think this was a very good team win. Our players seemed tempted to sit around and watch Keeney do his stuff. That was enough for the win today, but on another day maybe Keeney will be injured or our opponents can counter him, and we'll need the rest of the players to step up as well."
Miami was led by Keeney (20 points, 8 boards, 2 assists, a steal), Colomb (18 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, a block), Romero (19 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a steal). Philadelphia was led by Evans (25 points, 4 assists, 2 steals, a block), Wilson (9 points, a steal), Ziegler (22 points, a block).
With the victory, Miami are now 28-20 and 18-6 at home. They stay at #1 in the Southeast and remain at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference. Philadelphia fall to 30-19 after the defeat. They stay at #3 in the Atlantic and hold at #5 overall in the Eastern Conference.
