CVBL: Charlotte Does What it Takes to Stun Memphis 99-97

Charlotte took advantage of bad calls and lucky breaks, coming away with the 99-97 upset of Memphis. "I won't lie and say that we deserved this win," said Charlotte coach Bob, "it was a gift. They outplayed us from the start, and somebody not keeping count of the score would have had them well ahead at the end. But the luck came at the critical points of the game, and somehow we came out on top."

Memphis players and coach Bob were livid afterwards. "That had to be one of the worst refereeing jobs I've ever seen," said Bob. "Those guys were like a bunch of idiot clowns out there. Makes you wonder if the game was rigged." Sigler players were unavailable for comment.

Charlotte was led by Atkins (19 points, 17 boards, 3 assists, a steal), Leonard (35 points, 2 blocks), Morse (22 points, 5 boards, 2 assists). Memphis was led by Sigler (26 points, 10 boards, 0 assists, 4 blocks), Maxwell (21 points, 2 assists, a steal, a block), Keeney (13 points, 3 assists, 3 blocks).

Charlotte are now 24-32 and 16-12 at home with this victory. They stay at #2 in the Southeast and stay at #8 overall in the Eastern Conference. Memphis are now 45-12 after today's defeat. They hold at #1 in the Southwest and remain at #2 overall in the Western Conference.
