CVBL: Philadelphia and Dallas Down to the Wire
Philadelphia downed Dallas today 99-92, thanks to a solid effort by star Franklin. The game lived up to its hype, with both teams having their moments but neither side able to dominate for any extended length of time. Said Franklin after the game, "This one could have easily gone either way. We're just glad that we came out with the win." Coach Bob echoed the sentiments, saying "Dallas came out strong and ready to play, and we knew from the start that it would be a battle out there. Probably if we played them 10 times, both sides would get five wins. But we got the win today, and that's what counts."
Dallas players were disappointed after the game, and coach Bob had his hands full keeping their spirits up. "They know they played their hearts out today, and that it wasn't enough. That's a tough feeling. Especially for Robinson, who had one heck of a game but couldn't carry the whole team on his shoulders."
Philadelphia was led by Franklin (18 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Scott (14 points, 2 assists, a block), Roberson (8 points, 2 steals). Dallas was led by Robinson (25 points, 7 boards, 0 assists), Madison (27 points), Meyers (7 points, 11 boards, 2 assists, a steal).
After today's victory, Philadelphia jump to 34-23 and 20-11 at home. They hold at #2 in the Atlantic and remain at #7 overall in the Eastern Conference. Dallas drop to 34-22. They stay at #2 in the Southwest and remain at #4 overall in the Western Conference.
