CVBL: Philadelphia Takes Easy Win over Atlanta
Allen led Philadelphia to a big 99-83 win over Atlanta in this evening's matchup. "We figured we could play with them, but Allen really surprised us," said Atlanta coach Bob. "He really took us out of our game plan, and we never really figured out how to stop him. We'll just have to hope for a more normal performance next time we meet, and hopefully the final tally will be a little closer."
Philadelphia coach Bob was enthusiastic about his star's performance. "That was really something, wasn't it? Certainly we take a realistic expectation into each game, but it really gives the whole team confidence to know that Allen can pull off a game like he did today."
Philadelphia was led by Allen (20 points, 7 boards, 6 assists), Rogers (5 points, 21 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks), Palacio (12 points, 4 steals, 3 blocks). Atlanta was led by Fanny (12 points, 2 steals), Cameron (15 points, 0 assists, a block), Marshall (14 points, a steal, a block).
With the victory, Philadelphia are now 1-1 and 1-0 at home. They stay at #4 in the Atlantic and improve to #6 overall in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta fall to 0-2. They drop to #5 in the Southeast and move down to #15 overall in the Eastern Conference.
