Said Phoenix coach Bob, "We've got a good group of players this year, and they pulled off the win just like we drew it up. Frankly LA Lakers isn't exactly tough opposition, but it was still nice to come out with the big win."

LA Lakers coach Andreas Helmle seemed resigned to the loss even before the game, saying "We're just hoping to keep them from running away with it and not look bad. Even that will take a bit of luck; we just don't match up with these guys."
